- This website was the brain child of two people, both of whom had cancer. Catherine Woollams (brain tumour) and Becky Simpson (breast cancer) shared the same views and goals. Since their forms of cancer were incurable by modern medicine, they both searched high and low – The Internet, cancer centres, books and so on – looking for information on what they could do to take control of their own lives. ‘Knowledge is power’ and good, reliable cancer information can be the difference between life and death. They were both bright and articulate people and wanted to make more-informed personal choices about their own lives, but were appalled that they were given little or no information on complementary and ‘alternative options’ or new therapies by their hospitals.
