- The International Society of Nucleosides, Nucleotides & Nucleic Acids emerged in the new millennium as an offspring of a continuous chain of successful biennial meetings that were known as international Round Tables. The IS3NA attempts to bring together scientists in areas as diverse as chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, synthetic biology, biochemistry, molecular and structural biology, virology, pharmacology, pharmacy and medicine, all interested in working in the field of nucleic acid chemistry, encompassing the individual units, nucleosides and nucleotides, as well as the important biopolymers of life: RNA and DNA. The aim of the IS3NA is to capitalize on the knowledge of practicing members across several disciplines to understand the impact of nucleic acids in a plethora of cutting edge scientific questions ranging from the origins of life to the development of novel therapeutics.
