- Born in Munich, Ju Lee studied Film Arts at the Panthéon-Sorbonne University in Paris where she earned a Diploma with a thesis on Martin Scorsese and a Master’s degree with a dissertation on Lubitsch. She then attended the University of Television and Film Munich to study Film Direction. Her documentaries and fictional shorts have been selected at several festivals including, among others, Hofer Filmtage, the Max Ophüls Prize Film Festival and Hot Docs Toronto. Ju Lee has won several Awards as well as a nomination for the Grimme Award.
