- Who are we? - Mid Glamorgan Area was formed in 1974 when there was a significant change in County Council boundaries. Previously it had been part of East Glamorgan Scout County. The Area consists of four Districts, Bridgend, RCT ( Rhondda Cynon Taf), Merthyr and CRAI (Caerphilly, Rhymney and Islwyn). Each District is made up of a number of Scout Groups offering scouting activities to young people from the ages of 6 years to 18 years of age. There is also the facility for the Area to cater for young adults from 18 to 25 years of age.
