- Peter Michael Winery is dedicated to the production of handcrafted artisanal wines that reflect the terroir of the individual vineyards. In 1982, Sir Peter Michael founded Peter Michael Winery on a square mile of rocky volcanic ridges that form the western face of Mount St. Helena in Knights Valley, Sonoma County, California. The estate vineyards rest on steep hillsides ranging in elevation from 900 to nearly 2000 feet. Over time, the Michael Family has acquired additional hillside vineyards on the Sonoma Coast in the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA and in the Napa Valley at Oakville. The winery is known for producing single-vineyard, estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and its flagship Cabernet-blend, “Les Pavots.” The property remains true to the family’s founding vision: growing classic grape varieties in small mountain vineyards to produce great wines using classical winemaking techniques. Given this covenant, only a limited quantity will ever be available.
