- Throughout my childhood I observed many of my family members baking delicious treats. The love they put into each baked good and the reaction from those who enjoyed the tasty desserts inspired me to bake. The summer before my sophomore year of high school, I created my own cookies and brownies by combining various family recipes. After experimenting and perfecting a lineup of unique treats, I decided to start my own gourmet cookie and brownie delivery company, Shelby’s Sweets. I first sold my cookies at school where they were a huge hit among the student body and faculty. My love for baking and putting a smile on people’s faces is what motivated me to continue my business venture while pursuing an undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University.
